DOS (/dɒs/, /dɔːs/) is a platform-independent acronym for Disk Operating System which later became a common shorthand for disk-based operating systems on IBM PC compatibles. DOS primarily consists of Microsoft's MS-DOS and a rebranded IBM version under the name PC DOS, both of which were introduced in 1981. Later compatible systems from other manufacturers are DR DOS (1988), ROM-DOS (1989), PTS-DOS (1993), and FreeDOS (1998). MS-DOS dominated the IBM PC compatible market between 1981 and 1995.

Microsoft introduced an operating environment named Windows on November 20, 1985, as a graphical operating system shell for MS-DOS in response to the growing interest in graphical user interfaces (GUIs).[4] Microsoft Windows came to dominate the world's personal computer (PC) market with over 90% market share, overtaking Mac OS, which had been introduced in 1984.

SNES (Super Nintendo)

The Super Nintendo Entertainment System (also known as the Super NES, SNES or Super Nintendo) is a 16-bit video game console that was released in 1990 by Nintendo in Japan, 1991 in North America, 1992 in Europe & Australasia (Oceania), and South America in 1993. In Japan and Southeast Asia, the system is called the Super Famicom, officially adopting the abbreviated name of its predecessor, the Family Computer), or SFC for short.

Sony PlayStation

The history of the Playstation begins in 1988 when Sony and Nintendo were working together to develop the Super Disc. The Super Disc was going to be a CD-ROM attachment that was intended to be part of Nintendo's soon to be released Super Nintendo game. However, Sony and Nintendo parted ways business-wise and the Super Disc was never introduced or used by Nintendo. In 1991, Sony used a modified version of the Super Disk as part of their new game console - the Sony Playstation. Research and development for the PlayStation had began in 1990, headed by Sony engineer, Ken Kutaragi. The eventual PlayStation (abbreviated PS, PSone, PS1, or PSX due to its internal code name PlayStation Experimental) is a 32-bit fifth generation video game console released by Sony Computer Entertainment in September 1995.

Available to buy in one form or another, usually through a digital store front. What platforms they offer them on varies, but most popular consoles and platforms have one or more stores where one can choose to buy them. Depending on the store, some games have Digital Rights Management (DRM), which require user to use and/or have an account to play.

Victorious from beating their evil captor in the previous game, Tomator in Lost Vikings, the three vikings Erik, Baleog and Olaf returned home. Things doesn't stay peaceful for long however, as they're captured while on a fishing trip and once again find themselves captives of the mighty Tomator. Sent into a robotic Arena, and after a catastrophic system error, the three viking escape with some newly acquired high-tech gear.

Realizing they still just as lost as ever, they set out through 31 levels to find the time machine that'll send them back home. Along the way they befriend a werewolf (Fang) and a dragon (Scorch) who help them.

The DOS, Windows, Playstation and Saturn versions of the game featured speech and upgraded 3D graphics, while the console counterparts looks very similar to the original Lost Vikings.
